As the training base of computer talents in Sichuan province, the School of Mathematics and Computer is composed of four departments: Department of Computer, Department of Software Engineering, Department of Computer Science, and Department of Applied Mathematics. It also offers four programs for undergraduate students: Computer Science and Technology, Information and Computing Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.

The School is granted to two master’s degree programs of first-class discipline on computer Science and Technology and Software Engineering and a second-class master’s degree program in Applied Mathematics. It is also qualified for granting engineering master’s degree in Computer Technology and Software Engineering.

The School also consists of three institutes: Institute of Computer Applied Technology, Institute of Computer Software and its Theory and Institute of Applied Mathematics. With the Experimental Center of Mathematics and Computer, the School provides a good experimental practice environment to students.

The School now has 120 faculty members, among whom 60 are professors and associate professors. Now the school has 1700 undergraduate students and 150 postgraduate students.

Over the past three years, the School has actively participated in a number of scientific research projects at national, provincial levels, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China. More than 500 scientific papers and 30 monographs have been published.

In order to broaden students’ mind, cultivate talents, and improve students’ innovations, the School jointly organizes dual-bachelor degree program in Computer Science and Technology and MBA with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
